Holderness and cupcakes

An exciting game, with lots of action at both ends! We led the way for a while, thanks to goals by Sofia Hubbell, a season ending drought for Ellie Burnett with two, and three for Sunny Ma. The Holderness goalie was the game changer. She had many magnificent saves. The Groton team, though, is suddenly showing significant improvement. Though we are still working on our skating skills, we begin to look like a team, passing, looking for each other, spoiling the other team’s moves with some good defense, looking for tip-in opportunities, back-checking, looking for break-way opportunities.

We turned over the ZeBrulls Nation Cup to the Holderness squad, but all joined for pizza and cupcakes in the squash viewing area, thanks to Holderness mama (and Groton faculty spouse) Stacey Low; faculty child Natalie Low, who decamped from the Circle to the frozen north, played her last Groton game for Holderness. The rivalry will change, but it will always be fun.
